Over 150 delegates and alternates attended the 5th Congressional convention May 2 in Robbinsdale, where many candidates for state leadership appeared, along with past candidates for U.S. Congress - Alan Fine and Barb Davis White.

Red Bartholomew received the Volunteer of the Year award, Mary Belfry received the Dennis O'Leary Award, and Carleton Crawford received an award for outstanding leadership (2005-2009).
